Northstar received US Patent No. 8,136,329 from the USPO on March 20, 2012. On December 23, 2013, Northstar received notice from the USPO that US Patent Application No. 13/406,731 had been allowed and the resulting patent should issue during the first half of 2014. Areas covered under the Patents include fastener retention systems, manufacturing methods, transportation rigging, pre-assembly configuration, and certain details of the internals configuration.

Reciprocating Patents have been applied for in Mexico, Canada, Brazil, EU, China and India. As of March 2014, Reciprocating Patents have been allowed in Mexico and China, and are in process in Canada, Brazil, EU and India.
